Welcome To Rhein International Academy!

Welcome from the Director
Welcome to Rhein International Academy (RIA)’s website!  I invite you to get a glimpse of what we are currently and what we hope to be in the future.

It has been my privilege to be at RIA since it opened in August 2003.  Beginning a school is an exciting adventure in any country.  However, beginning a school here—at the crossroads of three countries as diverse as France, Germany, and Switzerland—has truly offered such a treasure of possibilities and opportunities for our school community.

One commitment we have at RIA is to provide our students with a solid education within a caring environment.  Academics are important so we maintain high standards for our students; however, knowing that our students have strengths and weaknesses we strive to challenge, encourage and support each student.  One way that we can provide the individualized attention students require is to maintain low student to teacher ratios.  This low ratio allows teachers to respond to individual needs and provides the opportunity to develop a strong sense of community, which we feel is important for children at any age.

Rhein International Academy is a partner school with the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS).  Being part of this larger network allows us to build upon the experiences and successes of the other NICS schools.  One aspect all NICS schools share is an emphasis on ethics and values as a core part of our curriculum.  We base our teachings upon principles found within the Bible.  Helpfulness, sharing, integrity, and good character are just some of the aspects that we weave into our daily lessons at all grade levels. The program of study at RIA is designed around a Christian worldview; during the admissions process a member of the RIA staff reviews the basic principles of our worldview and how it impacts the classroom. Even though we teach from a Christian worldview, we respect those who have other worldviews and teach our students to be respectful as well.  At all of our NICS schools, students from a range of religious backgrounds have interacted within the classrooms so that their understanding and appreciation for other worldviews have grown.
Schools are the greenhouses where students thrive and grow as learners and as individuals. Rhein International Academy staff members take their jobs as caretakers seriously and are committed to nurture and challenge our students to reach their potential as life long learners and seekers of truth.
Rhein International Academy is in its beginning stages, and we offer the invitation to prospective families to “Grow with us!”  You are invited to be a part of our growing community at Rhein International Academy.

Thank you for allowing me to share Rhein International Academy and our vision for our students with you.
