Welcome To Rhein International Academy!
Rhein International Academy is located in a beautiful, treed area of Weil am Rhein, Germany just minutes from the center of Basel, Switzerland.
Our school is an interesting building from Würzburger GmbH, constructed entirely of metal shipping containers. Presently, our school houses our preschool through grade 8. Our classrooms open out onto our atrium, which features an indoor playground. In addition to our classrooms, our building houses our media center (computer lab and library), school offices and a multi-purpose room. Our container construction allows us to add to our current facility, as our student numbers increase. We look forward to the future when we have a permanent school building.
RIA students, staff and families enjoy the local parks located in the area of the school. Weekly swimming lessons, as well as school wide swim days take place at the Laguna Badeland. Across from the school, students go to the Tri-Nationales Umweltzentrum (TRUZ) to learn hands-on about nature, conservation and gardening.
Plans have begun this year to install our own playground behind the school. Fundraising efforts by members of the school community, including donations from international corporations, such as Novartis, and local businesses, like the EP Media Center have helped us purchase pieces of our playground.
