Welcome To Rhein International Academy!

How to Apply
Once you have you reviewed all information pertaining to the educational program offered at R.I.A., the procedure for admissions is as follows:

  1. Complete and return the Application for Admissions (pdf) to Rhein International Academy and arrange for the payment of application fee (as listed on the current Tuition Fee schedule) by bank transfer or other means.

Please note that payment of this fee does not assure acceptance of the student by the school.  Refunds are possible only in certain cases.

  1. Submission of the Health Form (pdf) (completed in full with attached immunizations).
  2. Submission of copies of student’s previous school reports to R.I.A. (including the most current report card.)
  3. Submission of copies of any Individualized Educational Plans or psychological / speech and language screenings or testing.
  4. If age appropriate, submission of recent samples of student’s school work in the area of mathematics (tests, homework or class assignments) and in English (creative writing such as essays, book reports, journal entries or stories.)

(In the case of students who have not previously attended a school with English as a language of instruction, writing samples can be in the main language of instruction.)

  1. Arrange an appointment for the student to visit and be interviewed at R.I.A., if possible due to location.

Once the above mentioned steps are completed, an admissions decision can usually be made; parents/guardians will be notified via email or post.

When an offer of enrollment is made, parents/guardians will receive an Enrollment Contract which must be completed and returned along with a copy of the information page of the student’s passport and the most current residence permit (if applicable) and the payment of the Enrollment Fee.

Admission decisions can be made by R.I.A only after the completion of the required steps listed above.  Rhein International Academy reserves the right to determine the appropriate grade level placement for each student.

As part of the application process, an English proficiency test is administered to all students whose native language is not English. If the student's evaluation shows less than fluent English skills, that student will be placed in the ESL program. On average, young children will be in the program for one to two years. Older students may take two to three years, or possibly longer, to improve their academic English skills sufficiently to exit the program and be independently successful with the mainstream curriculum.
